i took many hours to paint this image. i started off with finding images of penguins. i found this image in particular with penguins heads bowed down. i thought that the penguins head symbolized sadness. after i drew the image onto the canvas. after i waited to paint the image on the canvas. i decided that i wanted the picture to have texture. so i used acrylic paint and i applied it on thick. the thick acrylic gave the picture texture. i learned that you do not need oil paint to create texture on a canvas. i think that my final piece came out nice. i like my final piece (Surprisingly).  i think that it really conveys sadness and sorrow just like wanted it to.
